Summary from Goodreads:
When seventeen-year-old Sia wakes up on a park bench, she has no idea who or where she is. Yet after a week of being homeless, she’s reunited with her family. At school, she’s powerful and popular. At home, she’s wealthy beyond her dreams. But she quickly realizes her perfect life is a lie. Her family is falling apart and her friends are snobby, cruel and plastic. Worse yet, she discovers she was the cruelest one. Mortified by her past, she embarks on a journey of redemption and falls for Kyle, the “geek” she once tormented. Yet all the time she wonders if, when her memories return, she’ll become the bully she was before…and if she’ll lose Kyle.
I was given an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Talk about life can sure throw some curveballs.
Sia, a girl who one day wakes up in the park and not remembers anything about herself or her life & lives on the streets. She meets a homeless lady who helps her along the way until an accident put her in the hospital and it’s where they find her parents.
Still not remembering anything about her life, not family or friends she returns home with her parents and figures out she is a wealthy girl. Her parents are both in show biz. It might seem in the outside that Sia & her family have the perfect life, but in the inside they are struggling with different issues.
After meeting her friends & boyfriend she returns to school and little by little finds out the kind of person she was in the past and to her surprise she was not a good one.
The people she humiliated are struggling with accepting her as a friend and her old friends don’t know what to make of her with her memory loss.
Sia falls for the nerd boy that at one time she humiliated, but will he accept her?
I really liked this part about her falling for him and trying to redeem herself not just with him but with everyone around her, and she always goes back to the bag lady who helped her out while on the streets for advice.
Overall it was a beautiful story with a beautiful ending. I liked how it all turnout not just for Sia, but everyone around her. It was beautifully written and the author did a great job for it being his debut YA romance novel.
I give it 5 stars!
